Vesak
May 12
Vesak is one of the most important Buddhist festivals. It is also known as Buddha Day, as it celebrates the founder of Buddhism. Observances include prayers, meditation, temple visits, chanting, and acts of kindness such as giving to the needy. Many Buddhists light lanterns and candles to symbolize enlightenment.
