Little Stories of Great Composers Musical Book Series
Little Stories of Great Composers is a classical music series that travels through time to introduce children to classical composers. Each story is based on a real event in the composer’s life and is narrated by a music and cheese-loving mouse named Minim.
The first in the series, That’s My Piano, Sir!, is based on a true story from the life of young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A Delicious Taste of Mozzarella! features Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Some Creatures Have All the Luck! introduces Antonio Vivaldi.
Each colorfully illustrated 32-page hardbound book includes a CD (and a unique digital download code) featuring recordings of the narrated story and performances of compositions.
“A Few Morsels of History” at the end of each story includes additional biographical notes on the composers.
Fun Fact! The Secret Mountain, the Montreal-based publisher of this series, commissioned the chamber orchestra I Musici de Montréal to record these iconic pieces.

That’s My Piano, Sir! (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart)
One day, Minim witnesses the arrival of a dapper, young Mozart, and his family as they set foot on a dock in Vienna one late, cold night. He is no ordinary boy, sporting a white wig and dressed in red velvet, on his way to play several concerts in the city. To the surprise of all, he begins to play with his sister for the tired customs officer and gloomy dockworkers. The evening air comes to life, and soon, everyone’s faces are beaming, their ears ringing with music!
